Tell Us What You Think And Get A Free Song

Hello and welcome!

Thank you for checking out our new site! We hope you’ll come back again and again and become part of the family Tree.

We’ve just begun working on a brand new Talley Trio recording! Our first studio dates for tracking are in June and so we are hard at work choosing songs and arranging them, and we need your help. Now obviously, there are too many songs that come in for you to listen to and review all of them with us, so we want you to give us an idea of the types of songs you like to hear us perform best.

We’d like you to tell us which Talley song is your favorite and what makes it your favorite. Is it the lyric? Is it the style of music? Is it the featured singer? We want to know what you like the most and why. If you have a special story or testimony associated with that song, we’d love to hear that too! You are welcome to share about whatever Talley song you like, be it on a Trio recording or solo recording by one of the Talleys.

Those whose comments are posted will receive a FREE mp3 download of a limited-release Talley Trio song! You will be asked to provide your email address, and an email will be sent to you with a link and password through which you will receive the free download.

Tell us what you love about Talley music and help us record an album that you will love!

Thank you for your input! We’ll be waiting to hear from you…….

My favorite Talley Trio songs are the ballads with inspiring or touching lyrics. My favorite Talleys song is “Triumphantly the Church Will Rise,” and other favorites include “Jesus Saves,” “His Life for Mine,” and “Orphans of God.”

It doesn’t make a big difference to me who has the feature.

I love the Broken Ones because I can relate. I’ve been broken for years and no one until last year would take the time to listen to me. It took that one person to come into my life and hold out their hand to me. Listening was all I needed and still need and I know she’s always there if I need her.

The message is so powerful and it’s a song and message I want everyone I know to hear. It is very difficult to choose a favorite of your songs, but if I were to choose, it would have to be “I Just Want To Say Thank You” because I think God is so awesome and we don’t tell Him enough what a blessing it is to have Him in our lives. We are always to busy for a God who gives so much. This song just says it for us. Thank You Talley Trio for all you do.

I appreciate the Talley Trio’s music and ministry, and have for many years, from back when they were “The Talleys” (around 1986). Probably (though there are many unforgettable songs I cherish by the Talley Trio) my favorite is “Hallelujah, Praise the Lamb.” But great songs just keep coming and minister to many people.

My favorite Talleys song is “I Love the Lord/Total Praise,” although it was very hard to choose. This song touches me to the core–I think we’ll be hearing this one in heaven!

I think what I like best about your music is that it is so diverse. Most artists, it seems, just record the same sound, over and over and over. You guys always have something fresh and something new. My daughter and I both sing your music in our church, so we really appreciate the way you offer your tracks all together on one CD. That is a blessing! We do wish you would keep including tracks with BGVs though. We’ve missed that on recent albums. Especially for the songs that feature more of a solo than the full trio sound.

Thanks for your dedication and faithfulness. May God bless you abundantly!

If I had to choose a song, I would choose “Thinking about HOme”, “Testify” & “I Love the Cross”. I know that is more than one song but you know me!! By the way, we hope to see you the week before Memorial Day.

If it weren’t for Him, I wouldn’t even be alive! When I start feeling down, I just listen to that song & it gives me a reason to live again! :)

I enjoy all the solo recordings by the Talleys as well as the group itself. I am defiantely looking forward to seeing the Talleys on June 13th in Columbus, Indiana. It has been a long time since i have seen the group and I always leave blessed after hearing the message in THEIR song for HIM!!

It’s hard to choose a favorite, but the song “My Help” has been my anthem over the past few months. On March 14th, my 2 year old had a massive stroke that left him unable to speak or move. I had the song on my phone, and listened to it over and over. ALL of my help comes from the Lord, else I wouldn’t make it. We’ve learned the true meaning of grace and that peace that passeth all understanding. If you check out Tucker’s story at http://www.tuckersheart.com, you’ll understand why.

I am seventeen years old and I have been a fan of ya’ll and your music for many year, so it is going to be very dificult for me to have to choose my favorite song. Everyone of the songs that ya’ll sing, have said something about my life or touched my life in some way. The words of your music has gotten me through hard times. I cannot just choose one song there are three that pop in my mind right away as my favorites
and they are The Broken One’s because I love the message how it says I f everyone Loved liked God does there would be alot less broken ones, Keep Walking On because it says if we keep walking down the Straight and Narrow we will eventually get to Heaven, and then finially there is the song What a Meeting
the reason this song is one of my favorites is because I know the two people who wrote the song, every summer they teach a singing school and I have been to it a couple of times the two of them are wonderful people and that song is a very special song to me. Those are my top three Talley Trio Songs
I hope your music has touched others as much as it has touched me. God Bless Ya’ll and your ministry.

This is a great idea! We have the Singing News forums and others where people start a thread about their favorite group, but a website where you can discuss things and all of the above related to this particular group is a great idea!

I think all of the above songs are outstanding, not only the melodies and the lyrics, but also the sincere presentation. But hands down, my favorite is His Life For Mine. I’m the Music Director at my church and when I sing that song, people weep. It’s such a tremendous message and Rebecca Peck does such great job of phrase-turning. “His heart was broken, mine was mended. He became sin, now I am clean”. What a tremendous portrayal of what Christ did for us on the cross!

I began to believe I’m Gonna Make It, He’s the Only Reason I Live, and I Want It All. My current favorite is Red Letter Day. I especially love that your arrangements are extremely diverse. I love the jazzy alto numbers from Debbie, the belted blasts from Lauren, and the classic Southern Gospel songs from Roger. I love the organ riffs, the guest singers you include, and the humble testimony of your lives, Can you guess that I am a fan? Keep on Singing for the King, Susan

I had to chime in. First this is a great idea to share thoughts and comments about your songs and your ministry. I have been following the Talleys since before they were a group. Back in the Hopper days with the recording “Good Things”. And I have every recording you all have ever made either in LP, Cass. or CD and they all have special songs on them. I love the fast kicking songs, and the slow thought provoking songs. But I must say, my favorite song on CD and in concert is “Shout to the Lord / How Great Thou Art”. Putting those two songs together is genius! It takes you straight to the throne of worship.
    Keep up the great work!

But ya’ll could sing the “abc song” and I would love it. What a pleasure to watch Lauren grow as a gospel singer. It’s been a great journey and I know her parents are extremely proud, as they should be.

Talley Trio, I love this Website and the community it fosters. That’s so important today–the approachability, reality and personal touch–especially for younger people. I am not so young but have become a fan since seeing you with The Hoppers in Birmingham, Ala., last January. I bought “Stages” that night. I had to buy “Praise for the Ages” after seeing you perform “High and Lifted Up/Hallelujah Chorus” on the Sevier Heights concert that’s been on cable TV. Handel’s “Hallelujah” is my all-time favorite piece of music, no matter how it’s arranged, and your version with the praise and worship song is wonderful! I also really love “His Life for Mine.” I am still catching up on your earlier music. Keep up the great work for the Lord.

Where to begin when picking a favorite Talley Trio song. I have sung Talley Trio songs for years as a solo and with our group. So please keep the great songs coming. I have been a fan for a long time, but the last year has made me love your music more than ever. I have an almost 4 year old daughter, who loves to pretend she is Lauren Talley. So hearing her sing All the words to songs such as, Song to Sing, High and Lifted Up/Hallelujah Chorus, Mountain Mover, God Likes People, etc. makes me feel very blessed. Knowing that your music can reach from age 4 to probably 104 I am sure is a blessing. But some that are my favorites that I love to sing, because they are very special to me are songs like, Then and There, His Life for Mine, Truth is Marching On, Jesus What a Friend, The Healer, Oraphans of God, and Lord I Believe in You. What amazing songs with amazing lyrics, to be sung by God-given people who love Him and it shows. The song that probably means the most to me is “I know how to say Thank you.” This song came out at a perfect time for my husband and I and it still is a blessing today. We lost our first child in 2003 and we heard this song and we were able to sing it and use it as a testimony. “I don’t know about the future, I don’t understand some things about the past. I don’t know why some things happen, I don’t know why some things end and others last.” These were questions that we were asking God daily! But we knew that He had carried us through each situation and we knew ” How to say Thank You.” So I would now like to say “Thank you.” Thank you for doing what God has called you to do and using your gifts for His glory. I am now able to “Thank Him,” because I have a 4 year old little girl that loves to sing your songs to praise our King. Thank you for being a blessing!

I really don’t know exactly where to begin to tell everyone how much the Talley Trio has Blessed me in the past. I have been a fan of the Talley’s for many years and watched Lauren grow into this lovely Christian lady and how she praises the Lord in song. This family group is what the world needs to see as they have traveled the world singing about the Love of Jesus and then to see the look on their faces certainly shows the Heart of God! I am from St. Louis, Missouri but we live in Springfield, Missouri now and the Talley’s are in our area a few times during the year and I am always there because I want to share in the blessings they bring to my heart in song. I love you all and just pray for your safe travel daily so that the Lord can carry his Good Work through each of you. Lauren you have just become so full of Grace and it is always so nice to watch the look on your mom and dad’s face as their child fulfills the promise of God through SONG! Thank you again for your testimony and Lauren for you as you, “Testify”.

First of all let me say I love the Talley Trio!!! It’s hard to choose a favorite b/c of all the powerful songs they’ve sung over the years. I’d have to say that all of them are favorites but a few really shine in particular. “The Broken Ones” reminds me all too much of myself. I grew up in church and new every “rule and regulation” for Christianity. Deep down inside, I did not know the real rule/regulation for Christianity-Jesus. I felt like I was the soul thrown into the garbage and left forever with no one to help me to get out. But thank God, Jesus came and pulled me out and brought me into his family with which I’ve been completely satisfied. Another song that really ministered to me was “Oh What a Reason”. This and “The Broken Ones” have been my theme since becoming a Christian. More and more each day do I realize that God is the Reason I live…but Oh! What a Reason! Thanks so much for letting God work through your lives so someone like me could receive eternal salvation through Jesus Christ…You’ve helped make my life,a world of a difference!

And Lauren-thanks for tearing up “Hallelujah Praise the Lamb” on the Gaither video! Man y’all can sing!

Great new web-tree! I love the Talley’s. I love your songs, and your commitment to Christ! It’s hard to pick a favorite, but I really like “I Love the Lord” Incredible harmony, and wonderful praise to our Savior. I also like “The Healer.” Going through a difficult battle with my Dad and cancer, the song ministered in a special way. Daddy was healed in a heavenly homegoing. I wish it could have been here, but God chose to take him home. I know today he is WHOLE – healed in his body, and happy in his spirit. Thank you for lots of great songs. I especially like that the Talleys are a family group that love each other. Families are missing out when not able to spend time together. You are blessed, and you bless others with your ministry. I think I bought like one of every cd at the table at that first concert I went to, and I’ve never regretted it! My favorite song by the Talley’s would have to be “His Life For Mine.” I like “Shout to the Lord,” “Orphans of God,” and “The Broken Ones” and pretty much everything else, but that is definitely my favorite song. If I have to narrow it down to one, I would say I really like the sound and the message of “The Broken Ones”. It’s a different sound than you normally sing, but I really like it. It works well for you. The ratings certainly show it. I knew when I first heard it that it would chart well. As far as my other favs, I like “I have a friend” or “His life for mine” as well as some solos off of Lauren’s CDs. I have a lot of favorites! Keep up the good work. It does not matter to me what you sing..just sing! I love them all. But a recent favorite is “The Broken Ones”. All of my varied jobs centered around these special folks. One of them was a young man of 12 named Stevie who has watched his father kill his mother in a drunken rage. He was passed around from one relative to another and when he passed around several bikes and took them as his, he was passed on to me. The court felt a stable homelife would be of benefit to him so he was placed in a contract home which is similiar to a foster home. Unfortunately, the closest one was 60 miles away. On the day I was scheduled to move him, I learned that his grandmother was in the hospital. I knew how close they were so I took him there and left him for a couple of hours while I tended to some other things. Two weeks later I had to go get Stevie and bring him back for his grandmother’s funeral. After the service was over and we were on our way back to the contract home…Stevie asked me why did his grandma die. Well I took the medical approach and launched a discussion about her age, her heart problems…Stevie stopped me and asked did they not do heart transplants now? So I launched another discussion on a 12 year old level about waiting lists, donors…..and then Stevie solved the problem. You should have told me..my grandma could have had my heart. I said Stevie–we are too late–your grandma already has your heart. Stevie in all his 12 years reminded me of something I knew but I just keep forgetting. It is the world that breaks us and wants to keep us broken. It is only when we can be like Stevie and give our whole heart that we can be where God wants us and can use us best.

My first exposure to the Talley Trio was at a Gaither concert in Denver where I first heard Lauren sing. I was so very impressed and uplifted. That was also the first time I recall hearing Lynda Randle and I have thought ever since that Lauren and Lynda would sound great in a duet. I saw you all again at another Gaither concert in Denver a few years ago where I purchased my first CD of yours. I have two favorite songs both featuring Lauren – I love to Sing Your Praise and David Did Dance. My taste in Christian music is mostly Southern Gospel because it is real for me and the melodies and lyrics are alive and full of praise for our Lord while also being inspiring in an every-day life sort of way.

Thanks for responding to the Lord’s call in your lives and sharing the talents and gifts he has given you.

As much as I love the Talley Trio’s newer songs like “The Healer”, “His Life For Mine”, and their arrangement of “There Is A Fountain/Who Can Satisfy”, the song that sticks out most favorably in my mind is “If Anybody Knows” from the So Thankful CD.

Another one of my favorites is “Then and There” from Lauren’s first solo project.

Sunday was a wonderful day! all of you did such a great job and I’ve never heard you do Praise The Lamb any better! my Bride told me that song spoke to her heart in a whole new way while we sang with you & I have heard similar sentiments from a number of people that were there.
Mrs Debra was a real treat,I can be around her for 5 minutes & I’am inspired & encouraged.
You can tell Roger I would’ve bought a ticket to hear him play that song he played at the beginning of the service!

I’am trying to think of something nice to say about Greg, nope nothing’s coming to me but tell him I’ll help him load speakers anytime regardless.

We love & appreciate all of you,and will keep you lifted in prayer,

Now I can’t stop playing your music! Ya’ll are definantly my favorite artists! My absolute favorite release was Lauren’s single “I Live”. All of the songs on that cd have encouraged me so much, and Lauren has become my little sisters favorite singer after hearing me play that cd over and over again! Y’all sing such wonderful songs, it really is hard to pick a favorite. I guess I would have to say “The Healer” is my favorite because I know in my life He truly has healed me many times. Next would be “His Life for Mine” – what a powerful song. I still am awed by the fact that God would send His only Son to die for me and my sins. Next would be “Jesus Saves”. Yes He does.
God bless you all, The Talley’s have touched my life with your music and testimonies.

Of the more upbeat songs, I love “I am what I am,” “Testify,” “Searchin” “That wonderful name.” In the upbeat songs, I tend to like when you all sing with a little soul. :)

The first Talley that ever performed at our church was Kirk Talley and we fell in love with him and his style of music. After that Kirk brought his brother and wife to our church and they sang as a trio and they were wonderful! We just recently had the new Talley Trio with Lauren come to our church and OH WOW! It was wonderful, lots of new songs and the new songs are so inspiring! My all favorite song is Hallelujah Praise the Lamb, but after hearing Lauren sing her new songs I have several favorites…The Broken Ones, His Life for Mine, Orphans of God, Truth is marching on and so many more. Thanks again for continually lifting the Lord our God up in such wonderful praising songs! We Love You!

Well, since I have been around since asphalt, it is hard for me to choose one Talley favorite. I always love the acappellos, the song combinations and the arrangements are always amazing. It is obvious when you sing these that you are the best of the best. I guess one of the stand outs is Shout to the Lord/How Great thou Art. I find myself playing that a lot. It is a good “crank it up and clean the house song.” You know I clean so often! I have a 6 cd disc holder in my car and 3 Talley CDs are there. Bet you can’t quess whats in the other 3. I love you guys and you are always such a blessing. I have been buying and listening to Talley songss since Debbie sang with the Hoppers. I told you I’d been here since asphalt (Roger has too!) I am a huge fan of the Talley Trio. I’ve sung with an all-male quartet since I was fifteen, so I love the old-fashioned “quartet-style” southern gospel. But I love the sound of a mixed group as well, especially when the harmonies are as tight as the Talleys’. My favorite Talley song to just pop in the CD player and sing along is probably “God Is Great, Good, and Merciful”, just because I love that old convention style stuff that gives every voice a lead. I also love your acapella material because of those tight harmonies and really cool arrangements especially “Oh Glorious Love”. I also love “That’s Enough” ’cause it allows me to hear a hero of mine Jake Hess sing again. If I had to pick one, though, that would be my absolute favorite Talley song it would have to be “I Love The Lord/Total Praise” because not only are the lyrics so beautiful, but the musical arrangement is just so spectacular as well. Who knows? I like all of it! God bless!

I bought your Stages CD when it first came out. I really liked how you had all the different guest spots. You said you were looking for ideas for the new CD. I don’t know what direction you’re taking, but it would be pretty cool if you could get the Booth Brothers to do a song with the trio, provided you could find a song that you could incorporate both groups. It would make for a pretty interesting studio session just having Michael Booth there. Just a thought. Have a great day! Say hi to the family for me.

I probably won’t get to one of your concerts again until July when you come to Chambersburg, unless someone books the trio for a concert somewhere in the Maryland/Pennsylvania area before then. My favorite Talley Trio song is one recorded a few years back on the Hope For Tomorrow album: “You Can’t Go That Far”. My reason? I struggle daily with a sin that is tough to beat. God has brought me far, but I went so far, fell so many times, that at times I feared I went too far. This song is one of the ones that has given me a lot of hope that no matter how far I have gone, and how often I have fallen, there is still hope, and He hasn’t given up on me. Thanks, Debra, Roger, and Lauren for recording that wonderful song.

Just to give an update. We had the spring concert and graduation and both time the choir received a standing ovation on that song. (our choir very rarely receives standing ovations) I am the secretary for our school and I had so many positive response such as “that song is so annointed”, “I was ministered to by that song”. Our kids do a good job on majority of the songs, but I noticed that their posture changed when singing “Shout to the Lord/How Great thou Art”. They put their hearts into it and you could feel the presence of the Lord! What a wonderful night and what a wonderful song!

I have followed your ministry and watched it evolve from the Talleys to the Talley Trio – I have never been disappointed in any project that you have released. There aren’t any “filler” songs – just great material with encouraging and uplifting messages! One of my favorite songs ever is “As For Me and My House” – my husband and I had that sung at our wedding and that song has always held a special place in my heart. Another one of my favorites is “The Healer” – what a powerful message about our powerful God. My spirit is uplifted hearing Talley music and I especially enjoy hearing Debra speak either when introducing a song or sharing insight into a Scripture. Bible Baptist Church of DeQuincy, LA had the privilege of hosting the Talley Trio this past weekend, and our congregation was so blessed by their ministry of song and testimony. Actually, I am still in awe that they were at my church!

If I had to pick one tune as my favorite Talley song, it would be “I’ve Got A Song.” I love the words, and I particularly love the beat. As a minister of music, I always relate situations to a song. Whether I’m going through a time of rejoicing or a time of sorrow, I find lyrics that clearly communicate the circumstances at hand. It is only fitting that I am drawn to a song that says, “It’s a song of hope. It’s a song of love. It’s a song of peace that comes from above. I’ve got a song, I’ve got a song to sing. It’s a song of pow’r and of victory. It’s a song of the life that He’s given me. I’ve got a song, I’ve got a song to sing.”

Not only are the Talleys one of the most talented families in gospel music today, they are also one of the most genuine. Their love for God and their desire to share His love and grace to others is quite evident in their conversations. Hosting such an awesome family has been the highlight of my ministry in DeQuincy, and I cannot wait until I see them again.

    Blessings,

Hey Mark, i’m glad to hear “You Can’t Go That Far ministered to you. When I first heard the demo, it touched me, and i knew it would mean something special to a lot of folks who struggle with things. Even though we never sang it very much on stage, I’m sure it has been a blessing to others as well as you, and who knows, maybe God sent it to us especially for you because He knew you’d need to hear it. Thanks for being willing to share that story with us.

Well, to pick a favorite Talley song is like picking your favorite flower, it’s impossible. I really don’t know if that makes sense. But if I had to pick a favorite song it is “If Anybody Knows”. If there is something you learn about being a Christian it is the Love of Christ, His Grace and most of all His Power. I used to have panic attacks really bad when I was younger and I heard that song and it just picked me up out of the valley and threw me on the mountain. When it says that I could use His name to defend myself, you realize that there is nothing impossible with God. All you have to do is speak His name and Satan trembles! How awesome is that?

the Broken Ones is pretty awesome too!

But what really is awesome is those Kentucky Wildcats, I think that is Laurens favorite team. hahahaha!!!! I know Debra has some blue and white in her!

    God bless All!

Pray for me and my husband to overcome minor illnesses that hinder us from serving God and others in the way God would have us serve. Our pastor spoke on Jonah tonight. He was speaking on Jonah running away from what God was telling him to do. I personally want to hear clearly exactly what it is that God would have me to do with my life. Thank you for your prayers.

It gives me goosebumps everytime I play your CD or hear you sing it in person. Please come to the Northeast of Pennsylvania more often for concerts as welove to hear you! First let me say I thank the Lord for you guys. I just graduated from college with a degree in Music Ministries, and i know God has called me to travel and sing Gospel Music. I live in Hickory, NC,right in the middle of the Southern Gospel Belt, so I have seen you guys many times, and I love your presence on stage. It is not fake, and it’s not all show. it is sincere and sensitive to the Holy Spirit. Martin Luther said “Preaching is God’s chance to speak to His people, but music is the people’s chance to speak to their God”. I live by this quote in my concerts. You guys exercise this principle by your choice of songs, and the way you minister them. Relating the song to the audience is crucial because if they can’t understand what you’re talking about, you are defeating your purpose. I love your song “The Debt”. It tells the story of the Gospel plainly, while the music and arrangement enforce the message. I think this is probably my favorite song of your right now… well, “I’m Free” is still up there, too. That was a while ago, though. God Bless you, and keep on singing for Him and standing for the truth, because as you guys know, His Truth, the only truth, still marches on!!!!
    Only Because of Him,

Love the Tally’s!! You guys are one of my favorites!! I love your strong ballads. “The Answer Is Christ” is my favorite song of the Tally Trio. Because it is “SO BIBICAL” and it BRINGS “HOPE” to everyone listening. I would love to hear you guys do a song specificaly about “PRAYER”. You guys are so anointed that i think it would be such a tremendous BLESSING to every saint who is going through trials and rough times. When they feel like there up against a wall or a mountain and they can’t see any thing else BUT the mountain. But through prayer God CAN & WILL deliver. Anyways that my little comment. I believe I own them all and have even worn a couple out. I purchased one of your dvd’s at Mims in May and it to is wonderful. I fell that if a person hears the Tally Trio and is not moved by the music they need to go get a check up at the doctor. They are either spiritually dead or something is terribly wrong. lol It is not just the musical talents of your family but the song selection and delivery is very strong. Having heard ya’ll 5 times since December and not seeing another scheduled performace for Texas is very depressing. LOL,not. Tell your mom and dad hello and God Bless each of you and your Ministry. We have known each other more years than we want to share publicly. But I have never shared what the Talley Trio did to help me make it through one of the worst time of my.
The year 1998, Talley’s doing Sunday Singing@ Louise Manrell’s and the CD “Thankful” came out. My sister was visiting from out of state and got to go and see the Talleys and Louise and we had the best times of our lives. We had already lost 2 sisters at an early age to cancer and we were able to rejoice together and I was assured that my sister had a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.
On August 11,1998 That sister died in my arms at the age of 53 of cancer.Only 12 day after being diagnosed with cancer.
Her favorite song from the album was”Jesus is Calling You Home” Her children did not know what to do and I helped with the arrangments. While going out they went with me and the CD was playing. The song came on”Jesus is Calling You Home” and they knew immedeiately that song was meant for them and felt it came from their Mom. It was the GREATEST comfort for them and for myself. It was played continuosly at her funeral.
To this day that is my favorite and always will be. It gave all the opportunity to know the Lord and to know His love.
You have been a great blessing.
    Keep it Up

Love You More Than You Will Ever Know,

    Hello Talley Trio!

I really like your new site – it is really awesome – an excellent way for all your fans to stay in touch.

I am looking forward to seeing you all in a few weeks here in Kingsport, TN – I am very excited about seeing you!

Your music is such a blessing to me. Your song “The Broken Ones” is one of the most anointed songs I have ever heard. I know that God has and is going to use it in a powerful way.

I also wanted to share a blog that I posted on my MySpace page last night. Although I didn’t write this blog about a Talley Song, I felt like the Lord still wanted me to share it with you!

I SAW GOD TODAY – MY THOUGHTS ON THIS AMAZING SONG!
    written by Heidi

    I SAW GOD TODAY
    by George Strait

I just walked down the street to the coffee shop
    had to take a break
I’d been by her side for eighteen hours straight
I saw a flower growing in the middle of the sidewalk
    pushing up through the concrete
like it was planted right there for me to see
the flashin’ lights, the honkin’ horns
    all seemed to fade away
in the shadow of that hospital at 5:08
    I saw God today

    Chorus:
    I’ve been to church
    I’ve read the book
    I know He’s here, but I don’t look
near as often as I should
    Yeah, I know I should
    His fingerprints are everywhere
I’d just slow down to stop and stare
opened my eyes and man I swear
    I saw God today

I saw a couple walking by they were holding hands
    Man, she had that glow
yeah I couldn’t help but notice she was starting to show
it stood there for a minute takin’ the sky
    lost in that sunset
a splash of amber melted in the shades of red

    Chorus

I got my face pressed up against the nursery glass
    She’s sleeping like a rock
My name on her wrist wearing tiny pink socks
She’s got my nose, she’s got her mama’s eyes
    My brand new baby girl
    She’s a miracle
    I saw God today

This morning while I was driving to work, the song “I Saw God Today” came on the radio. I was greatly ministered to by the lyrics to this powerful song.

I just wanted to remind you that God’s love, His power and His presence are all around you – in the little, seemingly insignificant things, His presence is there.

His love can be found in a variety of places and can be felt in many different ways.

We must learn to slow down and not live life at such a frantic pace. It really is ok if you don’t get everything done on your to-do list. Your house doesn’t have to be spotless and life doesn’t have to be perfect in order for you to be happy and fulfilled.

God’s love is everywhere, from the kind lady who checks you out at Wal-Mart to your co-workers who laugh with you and make you feel special.

Every day God sends people into our world because He loves us. We must learn to appreciate other people for who they are. We must learn not to take for granted the small things in life like sitting outside on the porch swing with your cat (thanks Cookie) to taking a nice long walk with the dog. Even the small things are very significant.

I believe that God wants us, His Children to appreciate the world around us, and the people that are in it. I think that it is time to show some extra love to the ones we care about the most.

We can’t let urgent things get in the way of important things. We must enjoy each moment and appreciate the simple beauties it can bring.

If you have not heard this awesome song, I would greatly recommend it as I believe it will really bless you just like it did me.

Remember, God loves you. He has a perfect, unique and original plan for each and every one of you. Each of you has a specific role and calling that only you can fulfill. Your life has great significance and great value. Don’t ever let anyone speak negatively about you and don’t ever speak negatively about yourself.

It is time to rise up and be strong, my friends. You must learn to appreciate yourself and love yourself for who you are. Celebrate the person God made you to be and live every moment to the fullest!

    Have a wonderful day!
    Love,
    Heidi

I love all the songs that the Talley’s and now the Talley Trio has ever done. The Healer is an awesome song and from what I have seen there are more to come. But probably my favorite of favorites would be His Life For Mine. I heard you do this in concert and at the time I was experiencing a trying time in my life and I was walking farther and farther from God but I went to the concert and Lauren sang her heart out that night and I remember towards the end she spread her arms out and at that moment Christ spoke to me and all I could see was him on the cross giving his life for me and at that moment I said in my heart that I was sorry and I felt Christ envelope me and I haven’t been the same since.
So thank you and keep on keeping on for Him.

One thing that’s always impressed me about the Talley’s, is the spectrum of music you choose. I love the bluesy sounds of “Naaman The Leper”, “If It Had Not Been”, “On Time God”, “Searchin”, “I want It All”, and “Testify”, and of course there’s the Christmas song “Jesus What a Wonderful Child”. WOW!!! The many songs you sing about the Grace of God are incomparable. One of my favorites of these is “Grace I’m Changed”. Another song that always causes me to reflect on my relationship to God, is “When Anyone Looks At Me”. That song really brings it all into perspective. Really though, as I listen to your music, I must say that there is not a group in Southern Gospel, or any Inspirational music for that matter, that touches me any deeper with the sincerity of spirit, or the depth message that you convey in all of your songs. So…just keep choosing with the same conviction and passion that you now do, and you will continue to create masterful projects that bless all who hear them.
    God Bless and lead you

I have already posted a favorite song on this page, but my daughter who is almost 22 months old is totally and completely in love with the song “The Broken Ones”. She always would bring me her Mickey Mouse Clubhouse DVD to watch, but one day she brought me a NQC highlights DVD and she hasn’t stopped bringing it to me since!!!! She will sit and watch that whole concert. I guess I raised her right, because she obviously has good taste in music.

I really think that The Talleys are the best in Southern Gospel music. They aren’t just in it for “THE SHOW”. They actually minister to you. I never will forget when I saw them in Chillicothe, OH because they greeted me at the door. What group actually does that. Not Many!! I appreciate who they are and what they do. God has truly called these people to sing and minister and they are doing awesome taking heed to the call!!

Wow what a song and Lauren really belts out the message. Her clear crisp voice makes the hair stand up on the back of my neck. If you think you are ministering to the younger group, think again. I am 70 years old. Keep up the great work. I Love your music, all of it.

I love the Talley Trio and especially the song, “Some Ones Been Healed Today”. I took my husbands Aunt to hear the group a few years ago in Valparaiso,IN, when she was battling cancer. The song gave her great hope and she knew that with God she was in a win, win situation (because she was a Christian). Today, I was fortunate to hear the group again sing the song in Portage, IN. Fond memories of my husbands Aunt were remembered as I rejoice now that she is in heaven, fully healed. My current favorite is the song the “Broken Ones”, what a powerful message for all of us to reach out to others, just as Christ would for us. Being a nurse I pray that I can live up to the songs message with my patients. God Bless the Talley Trio in the future.

    Hello Talley Trio,
I have looked through all of the comments and nobody has
had a comment about one of my Talley Trio favorites which
is “Built On The Rock”, Debra great songwriting. I like
this song, it has a good beat not to mention the good
lyrics. If we build our life on the Rock which is Jesus it will not fall.

I also love all the new ones: “Mountain Mover”,
“I’m Happy With You Lord”, “The Lord’s Prayer/Pray”.
I’ve never heard a bad Talley song, it’s the truth.
You all know how to search for good material to match
    your voice.

My favorite Talley Trio song is “Orphans of God.” I first heard this song a
few months back when I was going through a really hard time. I had come to a
point in my life where I felt as if no one cared. I felt like an outcast,
even at church where I have always felt loved and accepted. Satan had me
convinced that I meant nothing to anyone and that my existence was pointless.
That night, while browsing Southern Gospel videos on You Tube, I found a clip
of “Orphans of God.” I was so blessed as I listened to Lauren’s testimony and
listened to her sing about how there are no orphans in the family of God. We
are all loved and accepted by our Heavenly Father.
Things are much better now, and I know that I couldn’t have gotten through
that time if I had not heard that song! Y’all are awesome!

My names Cory Houchens. I’m a nineteen year old, “youth of today,” so to speak. My church has a New Year’s Eve singing on December 31st at 8pm-midnight (where at midnight we gather around and pray the old year out and the new year in). Talley Trio’s songs and messages in the songs have touched my life. Of course you guys sound amazing, but what’s different I see then most groups is I can feel it. “Our spirit will bear witness with their spirit” as the bible talks about. I just have a desire for you guys to be our featured group. My church is hosting it; Fellowship Missionary Baptist Church. We won’t be able to fill a gym up with thousands of people, or even have hundreds of people, or be able to financially give thousands of dollars, but what we can promise is that Christ will be the head attraction. We’re just a group of people who love the Lord and try, in our weak way, to follow his will. We don’t believe in shaking a preachers hand, repeating a prayer, or just mentally accepting the Lord Jesus Christ as your “Personal Savior,” but we believe that Salvation is between you and God. Its a peace that passeth all understanding, as the bible puts it. I pray that you guys can come and enjoy the new year with us. Pray about coming. Love you guys,

This performance is the single best song, sung by the best voice, along with the best accompaniment, and with the best arrangement…OF ALL TIMES!!!!!! How do you pick one favorite song from The Talley Trio – they are all great — The first time I ever heard the Talley Trio was in Harrisburg Pa, I went to see the Couriers and you were there that night -and Lauren was only 16 – and what a voice – Wow — What a blessing – from then on you all became my favorite group – I have alll of your CD’s – just ordered the new one – Life Goes On and can not wait to get it. But the first songs that I heard and loved were BUILT ON THE ROCK and and JUST DO IT. Another song is a solo by Debra – HE DIDN’T LEAVE ME – that song has been played on my stereo – and backed up and repeated so many times – it is a wonder that the CD even works yet. So never get rid of that song – in case I need a new CD — Lauren you have grown and gotten better and better – and more of a blessing with each new tape – and I have a Celebrate CD and DVD – with the Celebration Choir – and your song – LORD I BELIEVE IN YOU is awsome — another tape that is repeated and wearing out —
Another time that I saw you in person was in Lancaster, Pa. in a concert with the Booth Brothers. Last year you were in Whiting NJ – and I wanted to go sooo bad – but in Feb I just had knee surgery and had to miss it – what a disappointment. You do not come out to the NJ – Pa area enough – come back to our area again – please —-
Again – there are so many songs and each and every one shows the love that you have for the Lord, each other and how much you really care about people – and the Lord is using you in such a marvelous way —
Thank you all for all the blessings and great music.

Recently, September 2008, our family suffered the greatest loss we could imagine when our father died suddenly at the age of 82. He lived a great life of faith and christian integrity and we know that he is with his Heavenly Father. As his only daughter, he was my hero, and the incredible void that remains has been difficult for me. I was listening to the radio a few days ago and heard your song “Life Goes On” and it touched my soul to its’ core. As a christian, it lifted my aching heart and reminded me of that day when I will see my father again. I am currently in the process of producing a picture video for my family in memory of my father, and I would like to close the video with this song in the background. We have unsaved loved ones, and I would like to leave the message of this song with them. Can you tell me how I can get a copy of your group singing this particular song? Thank you for your music. God Bless!
