Here’s the next one! Life Goes On with lyrics under the video. And a bonus “fun in the studio” piece: Lauren singing with Brother Marion.
LIFE GOES ON
Verse 1
When the world as you know it has ended
And the darkness won’t give way to dawn
In your hour of grief its so hard to believe life goes on.
When you pray for a way to endure it
But a part of your heart is gone
Though you can’t see it now, still you know somehow
life goes on.
Chorus
Life goes on
There is never an end
What was dead lives again
Jesus promised that life goes on
For the ones who believe
will live eternally
So don’t fear the great unknown
Remember that life goes on.
Verse 2
So say to the doubt that would keep you
in a place you have never belonged
I have nothing to dread for my Father said
life goes on
And one day when death comes to call you
Say farewell to this world that you’ve known
As you leave earth behind you will wake to find
life goes on.
Bridge
Our troubles will end – the trials will pass
And our tears will all be dry
When the struggle is over all sorrow will cease
And death itself will die.

Lauren!
Are you going to use this Brother Marion video as a lesson on which techniques NOT to use next month at Steve Hurst?! That was too funny. You’ve got to bring it–if only to wake us up after lunch on Thursday or Friday, when everyone is past the point of exhaustion.
I am liking this CD more with each song you guys add. The finished product is going to be wonderful, as always. Looking forward to it.
Reply to Rachel OvertonBrother Marion…thank you for bringing out the Lauren we all love and adore!
Reply to Mary CampbellLauren – Good to see y’all take time out from work to have a little fun!
Love the music and the message of “Live Goes On” because life truly goes on regardless of what we’ve been through or are going through.
Blessings,

Another great song , oh how true . This is going to be awsome . Thanks for letting us be a part of this.
Reply to PeggyOk you got me twice with this song post. lol
)
Reply to RebeccaFirst this sounds like a song my niece Ashley would sing or even write. Second the bonus reminded me of what I would sound like singing with Kirk if I tried to sing. lol
Because of where I am in my life right now I really liked this song. Life does go on for those of us that remain as well as eternity for those that have gone home. The sound might even cross over to Contemporary.
A unique “sound” for the Talleys IMO, but it has a good, positive message for the discouraged and downhearted, and I believe it will be a great addition to the project.
That key change toward the end seemed a bit awkward, but I’m confident it will be smoothed out as the arrangement gets polished up and those incredible Talley harmonies are worked in.
Reply to Jim WiltshireI’ve been through death in my family life, and I know life goes on – Praise the Lord for that! This song was not one of my favorites so far. It was very hard to hear Lauren – music was up to loud. I did like how the music ended – that was unique.
Reply to HeatherHello!
Reply to Mark BehrensBrother Marion you sounded pretty good! Lauren, you need a little work. Just kidding! That was a really funny video clip! As for the song, I really like the instrumental part. The song sounds great, until you get to the chorus after the bridge. I like that fact that you come into the Chorus after the bridge with little accompanionment (guitar), and then in the line when you sing Jesus promised that life goes on, I did not like the holding of that note (word). I think the band should build during that line and you could keep singing the chorus as before. So far, I have been really inpressed with all the songs that you have chosen, this is going to be a really great CD!!
I think this is going to be another good one. I personally like the key change in there. I think it will sound better on the polished version because the vocals weren’t totally on there and made it sound weird. For the end of the song, let the drummer put some rolls in there and just fill it out. As the song builds it kinda has that rockin feel to it and the drums drop at the end. It is kind of a let down. On the first verse put in an electric guitar with distortion playing a lead counter melody then on the chorus the guitar can go to power chords with a tight (not fuzzy) distortion. As the song goes on keep crunching power chords and let another electric play some leads.
I get the feeling that this will be a little more progressive LP for the Talleys, which a great thing. It’s nice to see that there are groups out there that have the desire to be innovative. Things like this blog and things like the networking sites like facebook is going to help keep the interest of the younger crowd and help keep southern gospel alive.
Lauren. As far the bonus, your music lovin friends that have sensitive ears are dying!!! J/K
How is your work going at LU or did you ever get into it? You told me at Steve Hurst last year that you were looking at doing that. I wont be there so you will have to get along without me.
I emailed Steve a couple days ago to say hi and let him know that I wouldn’t be there.

I like this “different” song. The hook that life goes on is catchy, and the message is an essense of the Christian faith–victory over death doesn’t mean we don’t one day leave this earth. I think this is a powerful song in a more meditative package.
Reply to Melanie SmithHey Lauren, I listened to the latest song tonight. I like it. It’s a little hard to hear, but I know that the video just gives us a rough sample of what it will sound like. I’m sure it will sound great on the final cut when the trio gets everything honed and perfected the way you want. Keep up the good work. Take care!

Reply to Sam KerfootWow! My favorite song so far. I didn’t need to hear the vocals because the lyrics were knocking me out. Would love to know who wrote the song. Every line was well crafted and the song crescendoed with the last phrase of the bridge “And death itself will die”! Cool melody and arrangement.
Enjoying this preview – whoever thought of it deserves a high five (and a chance to duet with Lauren…maybe not)
Reply to Jim E. DavisJim,
So glad you like this song. It was written by Marty Funderburk (who has co-written several of our other songs including “I Love The Cross”) and Gina Boe.
Reply to Lauren TalleyHey, wanted to say I like the new website and look forward to the new album as well like everyone else. It was great seeing you guys again last week in Charlotte. Hope to see you again soon. God Bless.
Reply to Matthew MayesHey Matt-
It was great seeing you again in Charlotte and getting to meet your family. Good luck with your new job- see you in Gburg-

Reply to Lauren TalleyMy husband passed away March17th and this song ministered to me. Life does go on and I know that God is there for me.
Reply to Roberta MorganLife does go on!! That’s a promise we have from God that other “religions” cant provide. Blessed assurance!
Reply to Janice VincentAWESOME SONG!!! Right now I dont like the ending as much but I’m sure finally recording will clean all that up. Hence the wording of “scratch vocals” correct? Bro. Marion was way too funny and Lauren Girl! I never knew the talent was so wide. But where is the ruby slippers and your little dog, too? Keep up the great work.
Reply to StephanieHey Stephanie. We don’t really know the song and the final vocal arrangements very well when we record tracks so the ending you hear on this clip will probably be different on the finished product. Yes, hence the phrase “scratch vocals.”
Bro. Marion will surface once more before it’s all said and done; unfortunately this “duet” is the only one of its kind- actually maybe that’s a good thing
Reply to Lauren TalleyUMM.. YEAH Maybe The Talleys better not become a quartet huh? Bro. Marion sorry but I have to be honest I don’t think you would help sell records. I’m sure God loves to hear you sing though…
Got all the trust in the world that when the final recording comes out it will be great. I think this song is my fav so far. Lauren, you are one of my favorite female singers. Its awesome to see how God has blessed you with talent and how you’re are using it for the “right” reasons.
Reply to StephanieAgain the instruments pretty much drowned out Lauren’s voice but the lyrics I read sound powerful. Can’t wait to hear the project in total.
Reply to Elaine HarcourtLauren, I distinctly remember, that I can’t spell for one, and that you gave us a stern lesson about what you did with Btother Marion there, isn’t that How not to mess up or how to mess up. LOL. Good job there. Great track on Life Goes On.

Right now I’ve been trying to figure out if you just came up with an exceptionally strong batch of songs for this project, or if it’s more that watching the process makes them come alive a little more. Either way, this is sounding good!
Reply to Daniel J. MountHey Daniel,
So glad you like the new songs. I think this particular collection is one of our stronger ones. Keep checking back; a new song should be posted in a couple of days.

Reply to Lauren Talleylooks like this cd is going to be a GOOD ONE!

Reply to Jeffrey MearsHey guys! I’m glad you like my “alter ego.” Now you see what a day in the studio is REALLY like! (Goofing off is necessary to keep your sanity)
“Life Goes On” is one of my favorite songs we’ve found for this project. Like I said in the clip, the music caught my attention right away but the lyric is so well-crafted and so encouraging for whatever situation you’re dealing with.
Reply to Lauren TalleyKeep checking back; a new song will be posted in a couple of days.
What a great song! It certainly brings forth the truth of II Corinthians 5:8 Absent from the body, present with the Lord. For anyone who has lost a loved one, this song is a blessing! This should be another #1 song for the Talley’s! This one will rank up there with “The Healer”!
Is this going to be your new website (Talley Tree-O)? How do we get a copy of your tour schedule and product list?
Reply to Sharon KaddatzHi Sharon,
This site does not replace our official website, http://www.talleytrio.com. You can still find our tour schedule and order all our products there. Thank you!
Reply to Lauren TalleyI can’t wait to hear the final cut of this song. It has a great message of that day we behold our Saviour’s face and are in His presence. The song sounds as if it will take a lot of practice to get it down, but the effort will be worth it. May the Lord continue to bless you all.
Reply to Jeffrey WeeksLauren this is my Favorite song along w/ “Realms of Glory Bright”. VERY GOOD CAN”T WAIT FOR THE FINISHED PRODUCT!!!!.
