CD Cover Design Ideas

OK. We’re getting close to the finish line! Here are some cover designs that our graphic artist has created.  We are looking at them to see what parts of each design we like the best.  What do YOU think? Let us hear from you. We have to decide really soon because we are trying to have this completed and manufactured in time to bring it to NQC. (Click to enlarge.)

All four of them are great, but cover #1 is the best in my oppinion. The background is perfect, your smiles are perfect, and the poses are perfect. I will be happy with any picture you choose though because the cd will be great no matter what. Thank you so very much for letting me be a part of this cd. Ya’ll are great people.

I vote for #2 - I like the closer, individual pics better - and I think #2 is more flattering of Debra and Roger. I also like what’s happening with the fonts - the script logo breathes a little more life into it, while the shadowy effect on the title makes the project appear more cutting edge - much like your music. I think the paint splattered block wall works best if you can’t really distinguish the concrete blocks - otherwise it looks like a homemade backdrop.

I would have to agree with most of the others. I would have to go with number one for the cover. I like the full view of you standing together as opposed to the closeups. I think the pose is good and the smiles are really good. I think that is the best shot of Roger out of all four photos. The only thing about number one might be the font for Talley Trio. It’s not bad, but I’m a little torn between that and the font used in number three. If you did use the font in number three it might look better if it were a little bolder though. That’s just my opinion though. I’m not a musician, so I can’t comment much on the technical end of the music, but I am a printer by trade. I run printing presses and for a living so I get to see this kinda thing EVERY day. I think number one, possibly with a different font for the name. Take care Talleys!

Allow me to disagree with almost everyone here…

    #3 ROCKS!

It’s different from ANYTHING you’ve ever done before. It’s strong. It’s bold.

Your CD is like a kid. Not many people understand that. You’re putting a new thing out in the world. So, for the people who wrote that you should pick #1 because it looks like all the other CD’s you’ve ever done — I’d like for them to think about how it would feel if each child they had was the exact same as their oldest. And if everyone said, “You should just keep having the same kid over and over again.” It’d be boring that way!

I support something bold. After all, this is about FAITH and TRIUMPH and LIFE. And #3 says just that.

Plus - Lauren looks WAY cool in that shot! :-)

Agree with SongGirl Number 3 totally rocks. Number 1 looks like a traditional SG poster. It gets totally lost. Nothing distinctive about the shot other than the “family” or “trio” idea. #3 is different enough to make it stand out in a crowd. The shots are absolutely great. Lauren you look fantastic. i love, love, love #3. what’s up w/ the “family” comments on #1? we all know you’re a family. if we didn’t, the “talley trio” name may give us a few clues. i just like the shots, fonts, etc. on #3. and if we want to get all psychological here, let me say that #3 showcases each of you individually, reminding us all that you are each your own person within a family, not just “the talley trio.”

ps - SongGirl is right; #1 is too predictable.

If I have to choose from the existing templates my favorite is #1. Well that’s the short story but now for
    the rest of the story………
#3 is extremely reminiscent of the project “Hope For Tomorrow”….even the type-set & order of the photos. So lets do something different. Speaking of type-set…. that straight edge print appears also on “The Message”, “Rise Above”, “Stages”, “Life Story”, “encore”, “Praise For The Ages”…….& others so I really like the change up using the script logo. The shadow effect is good with it also.
In Roger’s introduction to this phase I notice that he said they’re deciding which PARTS of the design they like best so if I may recommend a new template based on the elements shown above…….on #1 I’d like it better to include the rest of Roger’s head & maybe change the color of the word “GOES” to more of a Magenta pink (pulled from the color in Lauren’s top in the photo). For #2 with the indiviual shots same change on the word “GOES” to magenta pink & also change the color type of “the talley trio” to the green like in #1 example. Well there’s my 2 cents worth - maybe a quarter’s worth - LOL.

I’ll have to admit COVER # 3 seems to be more appealing to me for LIFE GOES ON. The smiles individually obviously tells a story for each ones life as they continue to press on toward the mark of their calling. Not to shammy or subtle it just naturally seems more appropriate for me select cover # 3.

#3 - I like the font much better on that one. #1 would be my next choice but I don’t like the top of Roger’s head being the only one partially missing.

I like the #2 because of the title written in a different style than the box letters at the top of #3. The pics on the front seem to be the same on #2 and #3. But i would like to see “The Talley Trio” written in green like in #1 at the top. But my next choice would be #1. They are all good but the orange color is sort of transparent and the green stands out more. I believe if possible that they should try the green color in the heading instead of the orange. Which ever cover is used it will be great. Thank you

I am the pastor of a Southern Baptist Church by the name of Red Apple Baptist Church located in Boaz Alabama. After a few difficult years our church is beginning to turn the corner to full serice for the Lord. I have always been a fan of yours and since you gave a performance about two years ago at Sweet Home Baptist Church Guntersville
Alabama I have been wondering what would be the possibilty of your group honoring us at some date in the future for a Sunday morning service. If this
is a possibility would it be possible to know in advance approximately what the
cost would be.Our church would be greatly honored by your presence. If you can be with us I would concider it a personal favor if Debra would sing “God Took Away My Yesterdays” just for me. Also where can I obtain a CD of that song witrh Debra doing the vocal?
May God continue to bless your ministry and you are in our prayers.
