NQC 2008: Wrap-up

I only had access to a moderately slow Internet connection during the week, so I could not get up all the photos and video clips that I took. Here is a wrap-up post with the remaining highlights.

Here is a photo gallery with pictures from the week–each of their mainstage appearances, their booth, and of some of their other activities from the week. If you click each picture you can see a larger version, and if you click the larger version, it pulls up the full-size picture.

I posted the first of two videos from the Talley Trio’s Tuesday sound check. Here is the other:

While I got clips from their Thursday mainstage appearance up, Tuesday’s and Saturday’s had to wait until now.

On Tuesday, they sang “God is Great, Good, and Merciful,” “Winds of This World,” “The Broken Ones,” “The Healer,” and “Searchin’.” Greater Vision came up on stage for “Searchin’.” I got clips of several of the songs.

God is Great, Good and Merciful:

The Broken Ones:

The Healer:

On Saturday, they sang “Winds Of This World,” “Too Much to Gain to Lose,” “Orphans of God,” and “Testify.”

“Too Much to Gain”:

By the way, for coverage of the rest of the National Quartet Convention, check out my website, SouthernGospelBlog.com.

Thank you to Crossroads (specifically Mickey Gamble) and the Talley Trio for the opportunity to guest-blog here this past week or so. It was an enjoyable and memorable week, and I hope you have enjoyed seeing some of the highlights.

Live at NQC: Realms of Glory Bright and Hallelujah, Praise the Lamb

The Talley Trio sang “Realms of Glory Bright” on the mainstage at NQC on Thursday:

Song Stories…Live!

Thank you to everyone who stopped by the Talley Trio booth and shared a story this week! We got three on video:

NQC 2008: Talley Trio tapes radio liners

Just manning a booth and singing several times on the main stage and in showcases is plenty to keep someone busy for the week. But that only scratches the surface of what the Talley Trio has on their schedule this week.

One thing they do all week is interviews on radio and television. They also tape “liners” for radio stations. If you hear, “Hi, this is Roger Talley; thanks for listening to {your radio station},” there is a decent chance they taped it here at NQC.

Here is a photo and a video clip of a radio liner being recorded:

Greetings and a Sound Check

The Talley Trio recorded a greeting just for you:

NQC 2008: Video Greeting from Debra Talley

Hi, everyone! I stopped by the Talley Trio booth last night, and Debra recorded this greeting especially for all of you.

Guest-Blogging NQC

Hi, everyone! My name is Daniel J. Mount. Some of you will already know me from my participation on this and other Southern Gospel sites, including my blog, SouthernGospelBlog.com.

I’ve been invited to be a guest blogger on this site this week, covering the Talley Trio during the National Quartet Convention. The Talley Trio will be appearing on the main stage Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday. For those of you who can’t be there in person, I’ll be posting on those sets and on other events throughout the week.

God Uses False Eyelashes

Yes, you read that right.

It was the afternoon of my mother’s birthday. My parents and I decided to stop by the mall for a while before going out to dinner to celebrate. As I always do when I visit this mall, I stepped into possibly the greatest store on earth: Sephora.
