We have been teaching at the Steve Hurst School of Music all week and I haven't had a chance to check the posts on here. I am so glad to hear your story. It reminds me of the testimony of someone very close to me and I'm so glad to hear that God is changing your life. Just last night I was wondering if what I say and sing really has an impact. Thank you for encouraging me as well. Joe, I haven't experienced what you have, but I can tell you that God loves you and is ready to heal your heart if you sincerely ask Him to. I encourage you to dive into the Word and start listening to what He has to say to you. Also I encourage you to find a local church that's ready to love, uplift and teach you. Roger your playing was absolutely wonderful. The guy who was sitting in front of me was one of the Wesleyan pastors and he turned and said " aren't you to young to be at this concert" b/c Im 27 and well as you all know and as I have found out in my traveling & singing most of the crowds are silvered haired or no haired people. I will be praying for each of you I know what it is to travel and alot of people see you as stars, people that are invincible b/c you stand on a stage every night. I can related I have been going through a very tough time here lately I lost my job 10 months ago and all I have been doing is my music and ministry stuff at my church and well it hasn't been enough to keep everything up. I broke down about three months ago and stared selling all my PA stuff and it really tore me up b/c I feel called to do this full time but I have spent more investing in the ministry than I have taken in. I know that God is in control and tonight was a good way for me to be affirmed that it is going to be ok. My story is way to long and personal to list on here but be in prayer that God will either use me in full time ministry somewhere or show me where He wants me to be. You might not know me, but I have heard all about and watched you on television, Youtube and listened to your music as frequently as possible. I want to say that I love your music and I pray that God will bless you in your ministry. Lauren, you have no idea how far your music has brought me. My parents divorced when I was 21, back in 2006. Now, I'm going to be 25 this September, and God has really blessed me a lot. Since the divorce took place, I became an extremely bitter person, dropped out of church, because things began to feel to me like I couldn't trust anyone, and then finally, about 2 years ago, I heard a song by another group, and the song was called Orphans Of God. The music touched me so deeply as did the lyrics. And then I heard about your version of it, and I pulled up a video to hear the song by you and I was moved to tears with your statement you made just before the song began. "And I want to tell you folks tonight, no matter where you've been in your life, or what you've done, there is a Father in Heaven, waiting with open arms for you to come home to Him.". And Lauren, though I've kept my faith in God throughout the past 3 years, now going on 4, I feel like I've strayed so far away from God, and I'm coming back to Him today even as we speak. The date is Friday, July 3, 2009, and I want to personally thank you for your inspirational message of truth and hope. God knows I've struggled for the past few months especially with just trying to find out who I really am, and it wasn't until now that I've realized how far I've went. Just last night I had a dream I was at an altar service and I went to the altar and got back on track. Lauren, please pray for me that God will heal and mend the broken pieces of my heart and make me a newer better creature. Up until today I've been a totally different person than I used to be, swearing, causing trouble, and just not doing as God would ask of me. Thank you so much for your inspirational music.
