Featuring Jim Whetsel

Good morning! I know you haven’t heard from me—at least on this site—since my NQC posts in September. But at NQC, knowing that they would be in my area in late October, I talked with Roger about the possibility of doing some videos at the concert.

I showed up last weekend not knowing what I’d film. When I got there, I heard that there had been a request for a video featuring Jim Whetsel, their sound engineer. Here you go:

And once the sound had been all set up, here was one of the highlights from the evening:

Hi Jim, I’m sure the Talleys appreciate you very much! I was at that concert in Shelby and when Lauren sang ” He’s Alive “, I got a chill down my spine listening to her sing, and knowing what that means to all of us. Thank you Jim for helping to spread the Good News.

The video doesn’t come close to capturing how spine chilling it was. The church – a Lutheran church, no less! – erupted into a spontaneous cheer as the chorus started!

Hey Jim! Looks like you made the big time. I guess you’ll be autographing photos at the end of the concert now? :)
It’s pretty cool for everyone to get a glimpse of everybody that’s on the team.
    Take care!

    Hey guys,

Jim is a great guy. It’s not uncommon to see him talking about the Lord to a total stranger in a restaurant or a truck stop somewhere. He also is in charge of making bacon-egg-cheese sandwiches on the bus late at night. :)

As for “He’s Alive,” that song absolutely wears me out but I love singing it!

    Neat!

It was the longest running #1 hit on CCM radio, ever. I think it was #1 for something like 16 months.
