Christmas is over and the New Year is almost here! We want to wish all of you a happy and blessed 2010. We will be heading out tomorrow night, Dec. 30, for PA, Canada, VA, and back to TN and that’s only this weekend. It seems that we are always on the go so these days off have been wonderful. I would ask that you all pray for safe travels for us. It’s very comforting to know that while we are on the road we have our Tree-Oers praying for us.
Many people make resolutions for the New Year, but I have found that I am one who has good intentions, but has a hard time following through. Is there anyone out there like me? I have set a few goals this year though. My main one is to spend more time in the Word. Another is to get my freezer cleaned out, but that will have to be a warm weather goal since the freezer is in the garage. I have some others, but I would like to know how you feel about resolutions and if you have any for this year and how you plan to accomplish them. I could use some inspiration!
We hope to see many of you in the coming year.
Happy New Year
Debra

Don’t do resolutions because I never seem to follow through on them. I’m like you. I have the best of intentions but . . . . .
Reply to Elaine HarcourtI don’t do resolutions either, Debbie, but I do have a goal for the New Year, and that is to live the life that pleases God. This will mean more time in His Word.
Reply to GLENDAHappy New Year from TEXAS!
No resolutions – take life as it comes. If something breaks, fix it. If something doesn’t fit, go buy something that does; if you don’t have shoes to match, buy pair of shoes. Go to the beach at least twice a year. Spend time with the people I love and those that love me. beth, bouncing mattress, wv
Reply to beth in bouncing mattress, wvNo specific resolutions for 2010. I do have some goals. Like you, though, I KNOW that I need to spend more time in the Word. If I don’t have the Word hidden in my heart, what do I have to offer a lost world crying out for help? Another goal, is to take 2 Chronicles 7:14 seriously, and DO it! I believe that if we, who are His people, called by His name…will “humble ourselves”..and “pray”..and “seek His face”…AND “turn from our wicked ways”…..our land will be healed…and do we ever need THAT.
Reply to RuthieWe have enjoyed your music ministry so long that you are family to us. No New Years resolutions at our house. We pray that God will surround you with his hedge of protection and keep you safe from all harm and evil.
Reply to Ray & Kathryn WhortonI DO NOT DO RESOLUTIONS I JUST PUT IT ALL IN GODS HANDS AND PRAY THAT HE WILL GUIDE ME TO DO THE IMPORTANT THINGS . IF THERE ARE THINGS THAT I NEED TO CHANGE I ASK FOR GODS HELP . AND THERE ARE ALWAYS MORE THINGS THAT I CAN DO . READ GODS WORD HELP PEOPLE IN NEED . AND ONE THING THAT I HAVE MADE A PROMISE TO DO ‘ TODAY MY SISTER AND I WENT TO CHECK OUT SOME NURSE HOMES FOR OUR MOM . SHE HAS ALZHEIMERS AND THE TIME IS NEAR FOR HER TO BE PLACED . I LEFT SOBBING , ALL THESE SMILING FACES WERE GRABBING AT OUR HANDS AND TALKING TO US .I MADE A PROMICE THAT I WOULD VISIT THE HOMES AS MUCH AS I COULD THIS YEAR BECAUSE SO MANY OF THESE SOULS HAVE NO ONE . SO IF YOU HAVE A FEW HRS A WEEK WE COULD ALL MAKE A DIFFERENCE IN THEIR LIVER . OH DEBBIE I DIDN’T MEAN TO PREACH A SERMON I KNOW THAT THIS IS LONG , BUT FELT LED BY GOD . YOU ARE IN OUR PRAYERS MAY GOD KEEP THE TALLEY’S SAFE .
Reply to peggyA couple of years ago, I was asked by a friend “Do you live by the Word?” (I thought that was strange, being that I’m a preacher and all) Of course I said YES! Then she said “Have you read it?” Boy that stung! I had never read it all the way through! I had just read whatever I was studying… so I set out that year to read the Word in that year… mama said if you read 3 chapters per day, and 5 on Sunday – you’ll complete it in a year. I did it and it felt so good. Now I can answer honestly – YES, I’ve read and DO read the Word. You can too – I challenge you! Love ya BIG!
Reply to Donna LucasI’ll take that challenge to I have never read the whole word yet either

Here is my resolution for 2010,….as Paul is saying,..in Philippians 3:13-14,..Brethren i count not myself to have apprehended: but this one thing i do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before. I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.

Reply to Joyce BusterMy New Year Resoulution is to spen more time in The Word. Hope that ya’ll have a blessed New Year. I hope to see ya’ll soon in concert. I was at the concert in Texarkana back in November it was fantastic. That night I went in that church worried about what Monday was going to bring because I had a doctors appointment that was going to change my life one way or another. I have what is call Common variable immunodeficiency (CVID)and that means that I catch infections very easily. Up until about April I was on a medication that is called IVIG and I started that when I was five years old and I am now eighteen, so I was on it for thirteen years. After I stopped the treatments I had to have alot of blood work done and when we got the results back they were not good at all, my doctor said that her recomendation was for me to go back on the treatment. I did not nkow what to do so for several days I cried out to God to show me what to do, and what He showed me was that I was in better health off of it than I was on it. So I called my doctor and told her that I decided to stay off of it. That next month I had an appointment to see her on the Monday after ya’ll were in Texarkana and I was scared because I thought that she was going to come in that room and tell me to go back on it and I knew that was not right for me. That night at the concert I felt God reach out to me like never before and wrap His arms aound me and for the first time since I made that decision I was at peace with it. I went to buy a cd and have my picture made and my mom told you a little bit about what was going on and as we were leaving you told me that God was still in control and I knew that, but when you told me that Debra all my fears were completely gone and it was all out of my hands and in God’s Hands. That Monday at my appointment my doctor came in ready to tell me what I did not want to hear but then she looked at me and said you look healthier than I have ever you and she asked me how I had done and I told her well and she said you have proved me wrong again and I just smiled. My mom told me after Christmas that the doctor told her I would not make it to Christmas, but God had another plan. Thank ya’ll for traveling like you do and singing this music because it has given me a reason to go on.

Reply to ANGIE RILEYI always have intentions, but a long time ago quit making resolutions, because they go in one year and out the other. I try to like others, put things in the Lord’s hands. Ps. 37:23 says the steps of a good man are ordered by the Lord. I am not a good man, but when He saved me, He made me a good man. God Bless. Be Safe. Love you guys.

Debra, I can so relate! I’ve never did the new year resolution thing, but I make weekly resolutions. I find that I can stick to them better and this way I can tackle problems as they surface. God Bless!
Reply to WandaThanks. Happy New Year! May the Lord bless you all this year. I’ll be praying for you all. Lord willing, I’m look forward to hearing the Trio in concert on January 30. Take care and may the Lord bless you.
Reply to Jeffrey WeeksGod Bless you all; I really Love your songs! I have never written any songs and am not musically inclined at all, and, well truthfully I can’t carry a tune in a bucket. Just last week I was sleeping and God put a new song in my heart so I got up and wrote it down so I would remember it. I have never heard this song before on radio or anywhere else and I would really love to find somebody that could use it because I want to hear somebody sing this song. If you think you may be interested I would love to talk with you about it. I can be reached by email at nhppwrc@yahoo.com or by phone at 919-429-1222 or regular mail at
